Hydrogen-induced cracking test (HIC) is the basic requirement of petroleum-related pipeline steel and pressure vessel steel plate. The test is divided into A solution and B solution, which can distinguish the sensitivity of different steel samples to HIC in a short time. The test time is 96 Hour.
The test evaluation mainly focuses on the following three aspects: crack sensitivity ratio CSR, crack length ratio CLR, crack thickness ratio CTR
Commonly used standards are NACE MR 0284 and GB/T 8650-2006, and no stress is added during the test. On special request, the stress-directed hydrogen-induced cracking test can also be carried out according to the standard NACE TM 0103-2003.
